5 movies to watch if you loved Vidya Balan in Sherni

Amit Masurkar’s Sherni released on Amazon Prime Video sometime last week and received mixed reactions from the audience. While some appreciated it for its realistic portrayal of male domination, corruption, and environmentalism, a few others complained about the lack of excitement in the movie.

But what everybody seemed to unanimously approve of, was Vidya Balan’s remarkable performance as Vidya Vincent, or the metaphorical “Sherni” in the film. The subdued fury, the frustration, the helplessness of Vidya’s character was felt through the screen. And as a true Vidya Balan stan, I say, this was not the first time she has managed to do that.

So, if you are someone who loved Vidya in Sherni, here’s a list of 5 other movies that you can watch to experience some of her best performances if you haven’t already!

1. Kahaani (IMDb Rating: 8.1)

Released in the year 2005, Parineeta was Vidya Balan’s Bollywood debut movie. Tumhari Sulu, a T-series banner film is a story of an ambitious housewife, Sulu who wishes to be a working woman but struggles to find herself a job. The movie became a super blockbuster and people couldn’t stop singing along to the “Ooh La La” song for the longest time!

5. Shankuntala Devi (IMDB Rating: 6.1)
