In a highly anticipated episode of What Women Want, we finally (finally) saw popular YouTuber CarryMinati (Ajey Nagar) answering all of Kareena’s burning questions. We were already his fans, but his honest answers just bowled us over. Take a look at the 5 best moments from the episode.
1. When asked why he chose CarryMinati as his Youtube name.
Why CarryMinati, when his real name is Ajey Negar? Carry honestly answers, “Whenever anyone thinks about someone with the name CarryMinati, they instantly think of a foreigner with blue eyes, and then when they see me, they get a little disappointed.” He revealed that the previous name of his channel was actually Carry Deol, as he used to mimic actor Sunny Deol in his videos. Ajey further says, “There is no meaning to the name and it’s the name of my channel only because a 15-year-old me thought it was a very cool name and I decided to go ahead with it.”
2. When asked about the meanest comment he has received.
While he couldn’t repeat the meanest comment he received, he did say that he gets called Munna Bhaiya from Mirzapur a lot. People come up to him on the streets and congratulate him on my performance. Kareena promptly caught him saying that this is definitely not mean, Carry would not budge.
3. When asked by Kareena if his roast can be taken as online bullying.
Carry was very aware about the online bullying that goes on, and honestly replied, “First of all, whenever I roast someone, I take their permission. The person should know that I am making a video on him. If that person is familiar with my content, they have an idea of what to expect, and obviously, if they are not, they can always check out my channel. Until I get permission, I do not make a video”.
4. When Kareena asked if female content creators have more difficulties in tackling the comments than the male content creators.
While Carry was adamant that gender had nothing to do with tackling abuse, he was also aware that “Being a male creator, I have a comfort zone that I can look stupid and that is ok with the society. But on the other hand, if a girl wants to do something like this, then society has objections to it.”
5. Carry reveals the one superpower he wants.
While talking about the rape threats that female content creators get, Carry was earnest is saying it is a very disturbing aspect on the online world, and that if he ever gets one superpower, it will be used to put an end to this crime.
