In the case of actors like Rajkummar Rao, and Ayushmann Khurrana their debuts have proved their talents and versatility, along with the belief that they are here to stay. While many debut performers have given us their best, others have crashed and burned. Here are some examples of Bollywood male acting debuts that we wish we could erase from our memories.
1. Sonu Nigam
Sonu has the voice of an angel, but he might need some serious acting lessons. Granted, Jaani Dushman was a bad enough film, with a plot that includes supernatural creatures, cringe special effects, and badly plotted revenge, somehow Sonu’s acting is the worst thing to come out of the film. His voice has no punch, and he seems to be reciting his dialogues instead of changing the tenor of his voice accordingly. The result is an embarrassing display of acting that I am sure even Sonu wants to forget.

2. Karan Deol
Being Sunny Deol’s son and Dharmendra’s grandson, Karan had high hopes riding on him, which might have been one of the reasons for his less than stellar performance. Along with fellow debutant Sahher Bambba, his acting skills in Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas were just plain awkward, but we hope he does improve with time.

3. Fardeen Khan
Fardeen’s debut film Prem Aggan has been the subject of many jokes over the ages, with its weird dialogues, an awkward and unexpressive Fardeen, and an array of haikus that makes our ears bleed. How Fardeen won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut we might never know, but we urge everyone to watch the movie at least once to decide it for themselves.

4. Harman Baweja
Director Harry Baweja most probably had big Bollywood dreams for his son, which is why Love Story 2050 had Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik-esque dance moves, and a futuristic world. Alas, it all came to nothing as Harman was dubbed as Hrithik copy, and not even Priyanka Chopra could save the film from its poor performance.

5. Zayed Khan
Just like his cousin Fardeen, Zayed had tough luck with his debut in Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. His dialogue delivery was criticized and his expressions could only be described as awkward. His co-star Esha Deol was also the subject of criticism for her acting in the film, so Zayed clearly wasn’t the only bad thing to come out of the film. Daddy Sanjay Khan is in talks to relaunch his son, but the jury is still out on that one.
