Netflix just cannot seem to leave the Indian wedding industry alone. After Indian Matchmaking, it has now hopped on to Condé Nast’s The Big Day. Portraying the glitz and glamorous wedding of the Indian elite, it also being applauded for its feminist and LGBTQ+ stance.
Even so, it also received criticism for wasting money, the blatant disregard of COVID, and the privilege of the filthy rich. We have some tweets that show the absurdity of this show that puts Sima Aunty to shame.

The only thing worse than watching #TheBigDay would be actually knowing one of the couples featured in it.

Gonna show my mom #TheBigDay on #Netflix and tell her how everyone found their husbands in school when she wouldn’t even let me lock the door of my own room.
