The long weekend is here! This means that starting Friday, you have all the freedom to switch off your phone and log out of your email and basically avoid your boss in every way possible. And if you’re looking to spend your long weekend just staring at the TV, watching mind-numbing, relaxing, attractive people going about their business, have we got the list for you!
Here are 5 web series releasing this weekend, that you can binge-watch for the next 3 days:
Expiry Date, Zee5
A romantic thriller starring Sneha Ullal, Tony Luke and Madhu Shalini in lead roles, this series explores the age-old question, what happens when two people cheat on their spouses? Okay, it might not be that age-old also. But, if you’re into low quality gore and erotic thrillers, then watch Expiry Date on Zee5. And tell us how it was
Emily in Paris, Netflix
Ah, Americans and their love affair with Paris. Why is it that every American movie/TV show makes Paris out to be this dreamy land full of desserts and wine and fine-looking French men, when in reality it’s known to be a stinking, littered city, full of crime at every corner?
Anyway, Emily in Paris looks like everything we’ve ever seen before (on Gossip Girl and The Devil Wears Prada, mostly): a young girl struggling at her fashion magazine job, learning the ropes in the enchanting city of Paris and struggling to balance her professional and personal life in a cute coming-of-age story. Does it sound cliched? Yes. Will we watch it anyway? Absolutely.
Khaali Peeli, Zee5
The much-awaited and much-talked about Khaali Peeli is out on Zee5 TOMORROW! That’s right, the Maqbool Khan direction starring Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khattar has been the talk of the town, and we’ll finally get to watch it and decide if we like it for ourselves. On Gandhi Jayanthi, that too, haha. All I can say is, I am glad they renamed the Beyonce Sharma Jaayegi song.
Serious Men, Netflix
A film that seems to explore the ridiculous, power-hungry ambitions of India’s middle class, Serious Men looks as thrilling as it does revelatory. Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Aakshath Das and Indira Tiwari in lead roles, the story is about an ‘under-privileged’ father capitalizes on his son’s newfound fame as a boy-genius. His greed becomes his greatest enemy at the end.
Bug Diaries: Halloween Special, Prime Video
Bug Diaries is made for your kids, but tbh it looks like such fun for all ages. The storyline is relatable to every underdog in the world: each of our heroes has a Halloween wish: Fly wants to break her record for most collected treats, Worm wants to have a good costume (for once), and Spider would like to make it through the night without scaring somebody – including himself. I don’t care how old I am; I will always root for little bugs with kind hearts to have their wishes come true.
Although Crackdown released last week, we still recommend it for all those of you who haven’t seen it yet. Here’s the premise: A secret service unit, a sinister terror plot, and several innocent lives on the line! Top agent, RP, and his team are leading the charge to neutralize India’s biggest enemies. With time running out, can our secret agents eliminate the threat before it eliminates them?
Sounds interesting, right? Sure, it may sound like every other thriller series ever, but with a cast that consists Saqib Saleem, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rajesh Tailang, and Iqbal Khan, who are we to not watch it?
