If you already finished “The Haunting of Bly Manor”, binge watch these 5 horror web series on Netflix India

The Haunting of Bly Manor released on Netflix India on 9 October 2020, and I’m pretty sure you’ve binge watched the whole series. If you have finished it and are wondering what to binge watch, check out these 5 other horror web series available to stream on Netflix India:

Ratched

If you’re a fan of Ryan Murphy’s idiosyncratic creations (the American Horror Story and Scream Queens series), you will love Ratched, our review of which you can read here. Starring Sarah Paulson, it is diabolical, devious and delightful (in an extremely morbid way). Full of extremely twisted characters and blood curdling psyches, Ratched is a fully wholesome horror watch.

Ghoul

This dystopian horror/thriller show drew from Arab folklore, politics and thriller to create a bone-chilling experience for the viewer. Radhika Apte plays Nida Rahim, a newly recruited military officer who is fiercely loyal to the state’s authoritarianism…at first. Rahim is fierce and bold, and her journey into realising the state’s hypocrisy, orders of violence and the supernatural element behind it all, is one that we all become part of.

Dracula

Dracula is a drama-horror television series developed by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, based on the 1897 novel of the same name by Bram Stoker. Starring Claes Bang, Dolly Wells and John Heffernen, Dracula is about Jonathan Walker (Heffernen) who travels to Count Dracula’s home in Transylvannia, falling victim to the host’s predatory ways. Watch this series on Netflix if you’re a fan of traditional gothic horror!

Betaal

betaal

Betaal Netflix zombie-horror show produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s label, Red Chillies Entertainment. An intriguing story based in a remote Indian village, where the remnants of colonizers still remain, Betaal stars Aahana Kumra, Vineet Kumar Singh and Suchitra Pillai in lead roles. This village is a battleground between British Indian Army Officer Lt. Col John Lynedoch, his battalion of zombie redcoats, and the Fictional CIPD force. The show is radical, and makes connections to the current violence perpetuated by the Indian army on Naxals and villagers in remote parts of India, all the while adding the element of zombie horror to the story, upping the stakes immediately.

The Haunting of Hill House

The predecessor of The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Haunting of Hill House released two years ago on Netflix India, and quickly garnered a worldwide fanbase. Created and directed by Mike Flanagan, produced by Amblin Television and Paramount Television, for Netflix, this series revolves around five siblings of the Crain family, who grew up in a haunted home. Their adult lives are wrecked with traumatic memories and ghosts of a past they try hard to suppress. This should definitely be first on your list, as it is the first in the Haunting anthology series.
