Another weekend, another lockdown. From the riveting story of Ma Anand Sheela to a Game Of Thrones-esque fantasy series, we have everything to make us forget that it’s not safe to wander outside yet.
1. Life in Colour
Sir David Attenborough presents the most amazing series that tells us the magical way in which animals use colours for interacting. Covering everything from Costa Rican rainforests to the snowy Scottish Highlands, this Netflix show wondrously explains things like the ultraviolet signals on a butterfly’s wings, the purpose behind a Bengal tiger’s stripes, and more.
2. Searching For Sheela
Netflix’s Wild Wild Country put a spot on the infamous Osho and Ma Anand Sheela. This new docuseries has Ma Anand Sheela talking to Karan Johar and Barkha Dutt about her mentor, her past and the crimes she was involved in.
3. Kathmandu Connection
This Sony LIV show is based against the backdrop of the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts probe, where the investigation officer for the case is murdered. As the DCP in charge of the cast digs deeper, he finds a sinister connection to Kathmandu that might have a deeper impact than he previously imagined.
Parineeti Chopra plays Saina Nehwal in this wonderful biopic from Amazon Prime Video. Narrating the success story of Saina as she becomes the number one badminton player in the world, this is a story of resilience and hard work.
5. Shadow and Bone
Based on Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse novels, this fantasy series will debut on Netflix. The story is of one orphan Alina Starkov, whose extraordinary power has the strength to change the fate of her country. But whom should she trust? As dark powers grow, Alina must become more powerful if she wants to succeed. Starring Ben Barnes and Jessie Mei Li in main roles, this is a long-awaited series.
6. His Storyy
His Storyy revolves around a happily married couple, Kunal and Sakshi, but whose world turns upside down when Sakshi discovers her husband is gay. The story is about Kunal’s journey as he struggles to be himself, and finds support in Preet, the man he loves.
